Evelyn's first holiday

Evelyn's first holiday

As it is the day before Thanksgiving, why not discuss Evelyn's first major holiday. Exactly 4 days before she was born I vividly remember leaving work early with contractions on the 4th of July thinking that would be her first holiday. My husband and I were so excited to hold our baby and how cool she would be born with fireworks........that didn't happen. Sweet little Evelyn decided she would hang out for a few more days. Thanksgiving is not about the food for me this year it is truly about being thankful. Without question Evelyn is the number 1 thing I'm thankful for. She is the most amazing little person, so incredibly smart and sweet. This year our plan like in the years past will be to travel to my in-laws house's. I am very greatful for a large family but I will admit that I'm nervous about traveling so much and trying to maintain our feeding and napping routine. It may go completely out the window tomorrow and we will start over on Friday. We had our Thanksgiving at my mother's home last weekend since she lives in a different state and  that plan was easier for everyone. Evelyn loves Grandma's house, lots to look at, laughter and getting toys that were originally for christmas.  We are doing our annual Thanksgiving morning breakfast  casserole (recipe to follow) for my dad, hopefully Evelyn is less scared of his beard this time...poor baby. My goal for tomorrow is to not let the stress of travel and different houses get to me and to truly enjoy my husband being off work for the day and loving Evelyn.
